Saturday's contest between the Norwich Women's Ice Hockey team and Albertus Magnus is officially recorded as a no contest after play halted at 12:54 of the second period due to a significant injury. Per ruling by New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) Comissioner Katie Boldvich, Norwich will be awarded a forfeit victory in the conference standing so each team has the same number of games played since they held a 6-0 lead at the point of the stoppage. The two teams can choose to resume the contest if they choose.
According to NCAA Rule 82.5:
If a game is suspended, there are three possible options:
1. Resume the game at a later date;
2. If two periods have been played and resuming the game at a later date is not an option, the game shall be terminated with the final score what it was at the point of interruption; or
3. Declare a no contest if less than two full periods have been completed.
