NORTHFIELD, Vt.- As they celebrated Senior Day in Plumley Armory, the Norwich Wrestling team played host to Plymouth State in dual meet action.
To start things off in the 133-pound matchup,
Carver Moyer (Easton, Pa.) pinned his opponent in the first minute of action. After that, and a Panther forfeit, Plymouth State would take the lead winning three straight bouts.
Norwich answered with four decisive victories in a row to regain the lead and seal the deal staring in the 174-pound matchup with
Kyle Merritt (Hope Valley, R.I.) taking a major decision. To close things out, the Cadets recorded three straight first period pins. In the 184-pound bout,
Simon Taraska (Willowick, Ohio) dominated his opponent before getting his shoulders to the mat at the 2:03 mark. Seconds later,
Michel St. Juste (Atlantic City, N.J.) pinned his opponent in 55 seconds at 194 pounds. To close things out,
Mason Sprinkel (Bel Air, Md.) won by fall with under 30 second left in the first period.
Norwich will continue dual meet action when they visit Southern Maine on Feb 10 at 1 PM.
