Women's Ice Hockey: Cadets Clipped by Gulls in 2024 Finale

BEVERLEY, Mass.- The Norwich Women's Ice Hockey team closed out the 2024 portion of their schedule with their fourth straight non-conference matchup when they travelled to Endicott Tuesday evening.

From the opening faceoff, the Gulls held the upper hand, which included an early unsuccessful power play. After the two sides would trade opportunities, Endicott took the lead with Samantha Fantasia camping out in front of the net for the icebreaker with a minute and a half remaining in the opening stanza.

Just over a minute into the second period, Fantasia would score again with a shot through a screen to put the Gulls up by two which spelled the end of Leocadia Clark's (Stowe, Vt.) day, who was pulled in favor of Madison Brunet (Timmins, On.). The goalie substitution briefly sparked the Cadets as they went on the attack but were turned aside by Endicott's Casey Moritz including three straight chances for Anna Lisac (Euclid, Ohio). Later in the second, Taylor Girouard (Burlington, Mass.) also generated several chances, but the two-goal lead stood after two periods.

A minute and a half into the third, Fantasia would complete the hat trick, and the Gulls would score one more halfway through the frame. Norwich will return to home ice after the break when they take on Amherst on Sunday Jan. 4 at 3 PM to kick off the East West Classic.
