PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The Norwich Women's Soccer team rounded out the regular season Tuesday night with the last game of a three-game road trip against Johnson & Wales.
Throughout the first half the Wildcats had a large majority of the possession and would eventually break the ice in the 23
rd minute. Late in the frame, Norwich would have chances in the offensive end with
Kat Probst (Gouverneur, N.Y.) getting a chance. In the 39
th minute,
Lindsey Duggan (Belmont, N.H.) took a corner, after sending it in, the JWU defender attempted to clear it, but the ball came to
Harley Murphy (Guyton, Ga.) who sent the ball just underneath the crossbar for just the second goal conceded by the Wildcats in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play this season.
Probst had another chance early in the second half that missed the net. Minutes later, JWU would break the tie then add an insurance marker late in the frame to make the final score 3-1. In the contest,
Hannah Jenkins (Manchester, N.H.) and the Norwich defense combined for seven saves.
Up next, the Cadets will play in their first GNAC Tournament contest since 2011 when they host the University of Saint Joseph on Oct. 31 at 6 PM.
