HENNIKER, N.H.- In the latter end of the men's-women's soccer doubleheader at Don Melander Field, the Norwich Women's Soccer team looked to continue their strong campaign against New England College in a game where junior forward Harley Murphy (Guyton, Ga.) played a part in all five goals.

Goal number one came in the fifth minute, after a long pass from the midfield from Lily Briggs (Fair Haven, Vt.), Murphy split two defenders and raced towards goal before sending a shot with her left foot to the bottom right corner for the early tally. With the Cadets continuing to press, Murphy would take possession on the left side of the field off a defensive zone turnover and send a shot just under the crossbar for goal number two.

As the half wound down, Norwich would strike again. After Hannah Jenkins (Manchester, N.H.) shut down a Pilgrim chance, she booted the ball into the midfield. It would find Murphy in the midfield, who spring a streaking Abby Bruce (Peru, N.Y.) on a break who would pot her first of the season to give the Cadets a three-goal lead at the break.

Both sides had chances early in the second half that did not connect. Late in the frame, Bruce was taken down in the box leading to a penalty kick where Murphy would complete the hat trick. Minutes later, she would take a corner that would find Harleigh Cornellier (Tyngsborough, Mass.) in front of the net for the fifth and final goal of the contest.

Norwich's season ending road trip will continue Friday afternoon Oct. 25 with a trip to Dean with a 3 PM kickoff.
