Men's Soccer: Jorgenson's Late Goal Nets Cadets a Draw with Falcons

NEW HAVEN, Conn.- For the fourth time in their fledgling five game season, the Norwich Men's Soccer team come away with a draw, this one with Albertus Magnus where both sides found the back of the net twice.

The first half ended scoreless with both teams trading chances at either end, and both keepers making a save. In the 57th minute, the Falcons were awarded two consecutive corner kicks and converted on the second one with Roger Baldwin striking. Eleven minutes later, the Cadets would answer when Troy Galler (Marshfield, Mass.) found Aidan Dwyer (Glastonbury, Conn.) for the equalizer.

The tie did not last long, as Albertus was awarded a penalty kick in the 72nd minute where Kelvin Cortez would convert, adding a goal to go along with an assist on the Baldwin goal. The Falcons were clinging to the lead as regulation wound down, but with three and a half minutes to play Mason Reddington (Harper's Ferry, W. Va.) sent Kam Jorgenson (Titusville, Fla.) on a break and scoring the tying goal.

"Albertus was successful on a couple of set piece opportunities, but the guys showed great heart coming back twice to secure a point on the road," said Head Coach Staige Davis.

Norwich will return to Sabine Field Tuesday night Sept 19 to host Dean still in search of their first victory of the season.
