BOSTON, Mass. - The Norwich University men's lacrosse team wrapped up their spring break trip on Friday evening, dropping a 28-6 affair at UMass Boston on James Cotter Field in non-conference action.
Coley Bagwell (York, Pa.) and
Alex Johnston (Franklin, Tenn.) paced the Cadets offensively, tallying a pair of goals each.Â
Matt Meehan (Norfolk, Mass.) and
Chris Smith (Dawsonville, Ga.) chipped in scores to round out the effort.
The Beacons kicked off the contest with three-straight goals in the opening two minutes and never looked back, despite Bagwell netting a man-up goal off a feed from
Mitchell McKay (Lynnfield, Mass.) to cut into UMass Boston's lead.
Norwich's defense stood firm for the ensuing three and a half minutes, before the Beacons' Gavin Admirand got the offense rolling again.
Admirand and Connor Smith led UMass Boston with four goals apiece.
The Cadets will now look ahead to a road trip to Gorham, Maine, where the University of Southern Maine awaits on Wednesday, Mar. 15. Start time is slated for 4:00 p.m.
