PLYMOUTH, N.H.- The Norwich University Wrestling team returned to the win column in dual competition with a 38-15 victory over Plymouth State Wednesday night at Bank of New Hampshire Field House.
The meet opened with a victory by pin for sophomore
Jabari Pinkney (Jessup, Md.) in the 125-pound matchup, which was the 100
th pin of the season for the Cadets. This is the second time in Head Coach Alex Whitney's tenure at Norwich the team has collected that many victories by fall, the first was last season.
Pinkney's pin was the first of three consecutive Cadet victories as they began the meet on an 18-0 run including another pin by
Joseph Lotruglio (Andover, N.J.) at 46 seconds in the 141-pound matchup.
Joshua Ducharme (Tyngsboro, Mass.) also won his 165-pound bout in a 6-3 decision, and
Simon Taraska (Willowick, Ohio) picked up a technical fall in his 197-pound contest.
"It was a good road match, the guys wrestled with great effort," Whitney said. Â "We are excited to focus on closing out the season in front of a home crowd."
The Cadets will return to Andrews Hall for the first time since November for a dual with Southern Maine where the five seniors will be honored prior to their 1 PM meet.
