STANDISH, Maine. - The Norwich University women's basketball team dropped a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) tilt to Saint Joseph's College, 65-25, at the Harold Alfond Center on Saturday afternoon.
Maren McGinn (Georgia, Vt.) led the Cadets with 14 points, while
Rachel Botala (Grand Isle, Vt.) hauled down a team-high eight caroms.
The Monks opened the contest on a 7-0 run and never looked back, despite the Cadets' attempts to trickle the lead back down, which included trimming it down to six on a pair of occasions in the first stanza.
Elisabeth Stapelfeld led Saint Joseph's with 12 points, while Hailey Anderson tallied 10 points en route to the Monks' victory.
Norwich will have a quick turnaround, heading over to Maine Maritime Academy tomorrow, Feb. 5, for a 2:00 p.m. tilt.
