NEW LONDON, N.H. – As the season winds down, the Norwich Women's Soccer team took a quick trip down Interstate 89 for a weekday Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) matinee against Colby-Sawyer, where the home team prevailed 3-0.
Off the opening kick, the Cadets caught an early wave of momentum by being awarded the first corner kick of the contest, followed closely by a
Bella Roy (Weare, N.H.) shot on goal that was turned away. Eventually, the Chargers took control and broke the ice in the 11
th minute. Colby-Sawyer scored one more time before the half with a goal by GNAC leading scorer Bridget O'Connell. O'Connell would score again in the 80
th minute for the ladder end of a brace, as part of a day where she tallied 16 shots, with five going on goal.
Norwich will return to Sabine Field where they will have two of their last three contests, first up will be the University of Saint Joseph on Oct 21 at 12 PM for Senior Day.
