RUTLAND, Vt. – The Norwich University Men's Ice Hockey team got back on the winning track with a 3-1 victory over Castleton Saturday afternoon at Spartan Arena.
It was a day to remember for senior forward
Philip Elgstam (Stockholm, Sweden) who tallied the first hat trick of his collegiate career. The first two of Elgstam's goals came within 1:03 late in the first period. He would finish the hat trick with a powerplay goal in the final minute of the second period.
The Cadets held the territorial advantage throughout as they outshot the Spartans 41-21.
Andrew Albano (Hamilton, On.) was solid again in goal making 20 saves.
"I'm happy to finish the weekend with a hard-fought road win," Head Coach Cam Ellsworth said.
The fifth ranked Cadets currently hold a 10-1-2 record in New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) play. They will look to continue their strong conference play when they visit New England College Saturday Jan. 28 at 4 PM.
