FRANKLIN, Mass.– The Norwich University men's soccer team defeated Dean College 3-1, in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Wednesday afternoon at Grant Field.
Dean Senior Luke Palmer (Windsor Locks, Conn.) drew first blood in the 25
th minute, however Norwich knotted things up four minutes later when Sophomore
Mamadi Jiana (Chicopee, Mass) potted the rebound of a
Joseph Thongsythavong (Salem, Mass) opportunity for Jiana's seventh of the season and fifth tally in the last four days. Meanwhile Thongsythavong tallied his team leading fifth assist on the play.
Soon after in the 33
rd minute, Sophomore
Cullen Swett (Williston, Vt.) scored the eventual game winning goal off a free kick taken by Senior
Amerle Nemeye (Burlington, Vt). Swett has now scored goals in three consecutive contests. Later on Nemeye added a marker of his own in the 62
nd minute when he curled in a free kick from 24 yards out for his third of the campaign.
The Cadets return to action Friday night when they host the Rivier University Raiders. Kick off at Sabine Field is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
