NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Norwich University softball team dropped a non-conference twinbill to Mitchell College on Saturday afternoon. 

Sophomore Annika Beebe (Marianna, Fla.) launched her fifth career home run in Game 1 to highlight the day for the Cadets. 

Norwich fell 8-1 in Game 1 and then 14-1 in five innings in the second game. 

Sophomore Laura Deaton (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) drove home Liliana Rolfe (Plainville, Mass.) in the top of the first inning in Game 2, but Mitchell rallied off 14 straight runs to claim the doubleheader sweep. 

Kennedy White (Randolph, Vt.) took the loss in Game 2, while Maren McGinn (Georgia, Vt.) was saddled with the loss in the first game. 

Norwich (3-5) will travel to Mass. Maritime on Sunday for another non-conference doubleheader.
