NORTHFIELD, Vt.- The Norwich University Men's Ice Hockey team heads into the Thanksgiving holiday on a high note after defeating New England College 1-0 Friday night at Kreitzberg Arena.

The lone goal came early for the Cadets as sophomore
Alex Lewis (Moncton, New Brunswick) stuffed a loose puck home sent in front by junior
Patrick O'Neal (Indiana, Pa.) on the first shot on goal of the game.
After that it was the goalie show as graduate student
Andrew Kormos (Milford, Mich.) stopped the next 41 shots the Cadets threw his way. Meanwhile,
Drennan Atherton (Winter Haven, Fla.) stopped all 18 shots he faced and stood tall when the Pilgrims had a six on four advantage in the wanning seconds.
"I thought we played hard and got a couple big saves when we needed them." Said Head Coach Cam Ellsworth after the game. "I'm very proud to get a big conference win heading into the break."
The Cadets will return to action Friday November 25 against Aurora as part of the FirstLight Shootout. Puck drop is set for 7 PM at Kreitzberg Arena.
