RUTLAND, Vt.- The Norwich University Women's Ice Hockey team continues their strong start to the 2022-23 season with a 3-1 victory over Castleton Friday night at Spartan Arena.
The Spartans got the scoring started late in the first period with a goal from freshman
Moa Carlsson (Huddinge, Sweden) with a little over a minute to play. The Cadets responded early in the second when
Taylor Girouard (Burlington, Mass) fed
Mikah Baptiste (Ottawa, On.) Â on the power play for Baptiste's fifth of the season with currently leads the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC).
Later in the second junior
Aimee Headland (Nottingham, U.K.) found the back of the net for the eventual game winning goal. On Headland's goal freshman
Siyun Kang (Paju-Si, Korea) recorded the secondary assist for her first point on the collegiate level. For good measure senior
Molly Flanigan (Lutz, Fla.) scored into the empty net in the dying seconds.
Junior
Leocadia Clark (Stowe, Vt.) stopped 14 out of 15 Spartan shots for her 15
th consecutive win. The Cadets will look to continue their torrid start when they visit Plymouth State Saturday afternoon at 3:30.
