Box Score HENNIKER, N.H. – The Norwich University women's ice hockey team won its seventh straight game with a dominant 9-1 win over New England College to sweep the home-and-home series on Sunday afternoon at the Lee Clement Arena.
Norwich (15-4, 13-1 NEHC) gave up its first goal in six games, but the offense stayed red-hot out-scoring its opponents 44-2 during the win streak.
Juniors Mikah Baptiste (Ottawa, Ontario) and Julia Masotta (Tewksbury, Mass.) each scored two goals and tallied an assist to lead the Cadets' offense on the day. Sophomore Aimee Headland (Nottingham, United Kingdom) chipped in with a goal and two assists.
Freshman Megan Baliski (Kelowna, British Columbia) stopped 14 shots to earn her first collegiate victory in her first collegiate start.
Norwich had 13 different skaters get on the scoresheet in the victory.
Taylor Girouard (Burlington, Mass.), Ingrid Holstad-Berge (Stavanger, Norway), Ally LaGue (Barre, Vt.) and Kenady Nevicosi (Breckenridge, Colo.) each scored goals in the victory as well.
Seniors Emma O'Neill (Hamburg, N.Y.) and Morgan Tefft (Concord, Calif.) each tallied two assists.
Norwich raced out to a 5-0 lead after the first period with Girouard and Nevicosi scoring just 55 seconds apart just over two minutes into the game.
The Cadets never looked back en route to the victory.
Norwich will face one of its toughest opponents of the season on Tuesday when it travels to No. 1-ranked and undefeated Middlebury College for a 7 p.m. faceoff with the Panthers.
