BIDDEFORD, Maine – The Norwich University women's volleyball team moved to 3-0 on the season Wednesday night with a win over the Nor'easters of the University of New England (UNE). 

The Cadets were able to take the victory over UNE (2-2) with their third straight-set victory of the early season (25-19, 28-26, 25-10). 

Graduate Student Kathryn Farnum (North Andover, Mass.) lead the Cadets with 15 kills while hitting .452 with four digs.  Addison Hall (Apple Valley, Calif.) made an impact with 10 kills and a hitting percentage of .429, and Sarah Farnum (North Andover, Mass.) picked up 36 assists in the contest while being on the receiving end of 12 digs.

Norwich dropped the first point, then raced out to a 5-1 lead on the Nor'easters, in the first set, before Stephanie Erickson was able to break up the run with a kill.  After a service ace by UNE, Norwich then earned back-to-back kills from Leah Mathewson (North Chelmsford, Mass.) and Hall to bring the lead back up to four. The Cadets went on to win the set 25-19.

Norwich then took a close second set. The Nor'easters led 26-25 before a kill by Julia Schroeder (Victorville, Calif.) sparked a 3-0 run to run the lead the Cadets to a 28-26 set victory.

In the third set, UNE took the first point before the Cadets were able to rattle off 11 straight points to jump out on the Nor'easters.  Norwich would not look back on their way to a 25-10 victory. 

Norwich (3-0, 0-0 GNAC) will face off against MCLA at the Amsler Campus Center Gym in North Adams Mass. at 11 a.m. before taking on Utica to conclude the day.
