Box Score CHICOPEE, Mass. - The Norwich University women's soccer team fell 4-1 to Elms College on Tuesday night in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action.
Junior Isabel Doherty (Quincy, Mass.) scored for Norwich in the 76th minute, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Blazers' offense in the first meeting between the two schools as GNAC conference mates.
Doherty briefly cut the Elms' lead to 3-1, but the Blazers added one more goal to cap the scoring and cruise to the 4-1 victory.
Kelly Malheiro scored twice early in the second half to extend Elms' 1-0 halftime lead. Elms outshot Norwich 12-4.
Senior goalkeeper Lindsey Gordon (Wiscasett, Maine) made her first start of the season, stopping three shots.
Norwich (2-5, 1-5 GNAC) will look to end its three-game losing streak on Saturday when it travels to Regis (Mass.) for another conference matchup scheduled to start at 2:30 p.m.
Elms (5-4-1, 5-3-0 GNAC) has now won three in a row and will host Anna Maria on Saturday.
