SALEM, Mass. – The Norwich University women's volleyball team was victorious Saturday in 3-0 straight-set victory (25-19, 25-12, 25-7).

The Cadets move to 5-2 on the season with the win, while the Vikings move to 1-7 with the loss.

The Cadets were led by Sarah Farnum (North Andover, Mass.) who had 37 of the Cadets 39 assists on the day.  Laura Farnum (North Andover, Mass.) had 20 digs on the day with a service ace.

Offensively, the Cadets were led in kills by Kathryn Farnum (North Andover, Mass.) who registered 15 on the day, which tied her season high which was initially set against the University of New England on Sept. 8.  Addison Hall (Apple Valley, Calif.) and Maggie McNeil (Gilford, N.H.) each had eight kills and Abby Kanaga (Apopka, Fla.) added another 7 kills in the contest.

After the Cadets jumped out to a 10-5 lead in the first set, before the Vikings were able to end up closing the gap to within two points.  The Cadets would take control of the set with the score tied 15-15, rattling off six straight-points before closing out the set 25-19.

The Cadets continued to begin scoring runs, with the score 12-11 Norwich scored 12 straight points before closing out the set 25-12. The Third set saw 16 of the 25 Norwich points score through kills.

The Cadets will be back in action on Friday, Sept. 24 at 3 p.m. for a matchup with Johnson & Wales in their first Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest of the year to kick off the homecoming weekend athletic slate. Norwich will then travel to Regis on Tuesday, Sept. 28 at 6:30 p.m.
