Women's Soccer: Watt shines again in goal, but Cadets fall 2-0 to Simmons

Box Score

BOSTON - Senior goalkeeper Kim Watt (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) made 11 saves, but the Norwich University women's soccer team fell 2-0 to Simmons University on Saturday in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action.

Watt recorded her 11th game with double-digit saves as the reigning GNAC Goalkeeper of the Week did everything she could to try and keep the Cadets in the game.

Simmons (1-1-0, 1-0-0 GNAC) outshot Norwich 21-9. The Sharks got first-half goals from Izabella Warren and Nell Spencer to take a two-goal lead into the halftime break and then hold for the remainder of the game.

Norwich senior forward Karyssa Lachance (Gorham, N.H.) registered five shots to lead the Cadets' offense.

Norwich will look for its first win of the season on Wednesday when it hosts NVU Johnson at 7 p.m. on Sabine Field at Haynes Family Stadium in non-conference action.
