RUTLAND, Vt. – Sophomore forward Ann-Frederique Guay (St. Lambert-de-Lauzon, Quebec) tallied her first career hat trick to lead the Norwich University women's ice hockey team to a 5-0 victory over Castleton University on Saturday afternoon at Spartan Arena.

Freshman Aimee Headland (Nottingham, United Kingdom) and junior Kenady Nevicosi (Breckenridge, Colo.) tallied their first goals in Norwich uniforms, while junior goalie Alexa Berg (West Fargo, N.D.) stopped all 21 shots she faced to record her eighth career shutout.

Guay scored a goal in each period to pace the offense and bring her team-leading total to four on the season. The win marked Norwich's three straight victory over Castleton after dropping their season opener 4-3 in overtime to the Spartans.

Headland opened the scoring at the 10:17 mark of the first period with her first collegiate goal off an assists from Maddie Moell (Clarence Center, N.Y.).

Guay scored an unassisted tally at the 12:32 mark of the second period to stretch the lead to 3-0.

Nevicosi lit the lamp for the first time at NU after scoring 17 goals in two seasons at Univ. of New England at the 11:11 mark of the third period. Sophomore defenseman Molly Flanagan (Lutz, Fla.) and freshman forward Silvia Bjorgvinsdottir (Akureyi, Iceland) picked up the assists.

Guay capped the scoring at the 18:56 mark of the third period to complete her hat trick off assists from Flanagan and Samantha Benoit (Bow, N.H.).
