NORTHFIELD, Vt. - The Norwich University women's rugby team picked up its first National Intercollegiate Rugby Association (NIRA) Division III victory of the season with a 31-5 win over Colby Sawyer on Saturday morning on the Dog River Rugby Pitch.

Norwich (2-2, 1-1 NIRA D3) got a pair of tries each from Anita DiMento (Carbondale, Colo.) and Morgan Butcher (Burlington, Mass.). Sophomore Ava Smith (North Falmouth, Mass.) added another try. Shannon Hobbs (Burlington, N.C.) went 3-of-5 on conversions to round out the Norwich offense. 

DiMento powered in for the first Norwich try at the 7:32 mark of the first half and then Hobbs added a conversion to give Norwich a 7-0 lead.

Norwich will travel to Castleton on Sunday, Oct. 17 for an 11:00 a.m. matchup.
