MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – For the first time in Norwich football history, a Cadet was named to the D3football.com Preseason All-America team as senior WR Manni Romero (Phillipsburg, N.J.) earned a spot on the third team.

Despite the 2020-21 season being anything but normal, D3football.com recognized the top players at each position who were projected to return to the gridiron this fall when the season was canceled.

Romero's 2019 campaign stands out as one of the top seasons by a wide receiver in Norwich history as he hauled in 60 catches for 1,235 yards and 10 touchdowns. He was a dangerous homerun threat priming the offense's quick-strike ability last year. Romero's strength was producing large yardage gains as evident by his five touchdowns that went for more than 50 yards, including an 83-yard touchdown grab on the first offensive play of the season. He recorded eight games in 2019 with more than 100-yards receiving helping him rank 9th in the NCAA Division III in receiving yards and 5th in receiving yards per game (123.5).

The distinction from D3football.com mirrors his 2019 post-season honor where he was named to the All-East Region third team. Romero was also awarded the Joe Zabilsky Offensive Player of the Year award by the Gridiron Club of Greater Boston, named to the New England Football Writers All-New England Team, and held a spot on the NEWMAC All-Conference first team.

Romero has amassed 1,840 career receiving yards which rank third all-time at Norwich and his 17 career receiving touchdowns have tied him for second amongst the all-time leaders.
