Box Score PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Senior forward Amanda Conway (Methuen, Mass.) continued her scoring tear, tallying two goals and adding an assist to lead the Norwich University women's ice hockey team to a 5-0 victory over Johnson & Wales on Saturday afternoon in New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) action.
Conway moved into sole possession of fourth place on the all-time NCAA Division III scoring list with her 103 and 104th career goals. She also passed her head coach Sophie Leclerc '10 for second place on the all-time Norwich points list with 165 points to Leclerc's 163.
Junior forward Blossom Truel (Stratford, Wis.) scored twice as well to lead the Norwich offense as the Cadets extended their NEHC unbeaten streak to 46 straight games.
Norwich (15-4-1, 12-0-0 NEHC) took the lead on Conway's 19th goal of the season at the 13:52 mark of the first period off assists from Julia Masotta (Tewksbury, Mass.) and Sophie McGovern (Hermantown, Minn.).
Truel scored her first of the game at the 15:23 mark of the second period off assists from Brynn Wopperer (Amherst, N.Y.) and Kelley Madden (Novelty, Ohio).
Conway scored her 20th goal of the season at the 4:20 mark of the third period off an assist from Masotta to increase the Norwich lead tp 3-0.
Truel made it 4-0 just 2:24 later with her second of the game and eighth of the season while shorthanded off an assist from Conway.
Mikah Baptiste (Ottawa, Ontario) capped the scoring at the 8:40 mark with her fifth goal of the season off an assist from Maddie Moell (Clarence Center, N.Y.).
Emily Lambert (Riverview, Mich.) made all eight saves to pick up her fourth shutout of the season and 11th of her career.
Norwich will finally return home to Kreitzberg Arena after playing its last seven games on the road. The Cadets will face No. 2-ranked Middlebury College at 7 p.m. in Kreitzberg in a big non-conference showdown with the Panthers.
