Box Score HENNIKER, N.H. - Senior forward Amanda Conway (Methuen, Mass.) became the seventh player in NCAA Division III women's ice hockey history to score 100 career goals with a pair of goals in Saturday's 6-0 win over New England College.
Conway scored shorthanded in the first period and then capped the scoring with her 16th goal of the season in the third period to become the first player in Norwich women's ice hockey history to reach 100 career goals. To make the moment even more special, Conway hit the mark while playing in her 100th career game at Norwich.
Fellow senior Kelley Madden (Novelty, Ohio) had her second straight game with two goals, while classmate Sophie McGovern (Hermantown, Minn.) notched four assists to lead the Cadets' offense in the game.
Ingrid Holstad-Berge (Stavanger, Norway) and Carley Sedlar (Howell, Mich.) also recorded goals as Norwich swept the season series with New England College and extended its NEHC unbeaten streak to 44 straight games.
Juniors Nicole Lorenzo (Coral Springs, Fla.) and Samantha Benoit (Bow, N.H.) each had two assists to round out Norwich's offensive leaders in the game.
Norwich outshot New England College 65-14 in the game. Junior Emily Lambert (Riverview, Mich.) stopped all 14 shots she faced to pick up her 10th career shutout.
Norwich (13-4-1, 10-0-0 NEHC) has outscored its opponents 62-2 so far in NEHC games this year.
Holstad-Berge scored what would prove to be the game-winning goal at the 3:49 mark of the first period off assists from McGovern and Ann-Frederique Guay (St. Lambert-de-Lauzon, Quebec).
Norwich finally concludes its seven-game road trip next weekend when it travels to Salem State on Friday for a 7 p.m. contest, before taking on Johnson & Wales on Saturday at 3:55 p.m.
The Cadets return home to Kreitzberg Arena on Tuesday, Feb. 4 when they host Middlebury College in a Vermont intrastate showdown scheduled for 7 p.m.
