Box Score CHARLESTOWN, Mass. - The Norwich University men's ice hockey team maintained its hold on first place in the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) standings following a 2-1 win over Suffolk University in Friday night at Emmons Horrigan O'Neil Rink.
Junior Felix Brassard (St. Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec) and freshman Braedyn Aubin (Woodstock, Ontario) each scored goals, while senior goalie Tom Aubrun (Chamonix, Framce) made 15 saves to improve to 11-2-1 on the season.
Aubin scored his second goal of the season just 2:43 into the game on an assist from Noah Williams (Cortland, N.Y.). Brassard scored his team-leading 12th goal of the season just under five minutes later off assists from Ryan Boucher (Fitchburg, Mass.) and Christian Thompson (Windham, N.H.).
Suffolk (4-9-1, 0-6-1 NEHC) got a goal back at the 10:33 mark of the third period with a power play goal by Griffin Clark.
Norwich outshot Suffolk 29-16 in the game.
The Cadets (11-2-1, 7-1-0 NEHC) are tied with New England College at the top of the NEHC standings with 14 points. NEC has played more one game than Norwich however.
Norwich will face Johnson & Wales on Saturday at 4 p.m.
