Box Score BIDDEFORD, Maine – The Norwich University women's ice hockey team closed the regular season with a dominant 6-0 victory over the University of New England to seal its third perfect league regular season in program history.
Norwich (21-1-3, 14-0-0 NEHC) got two goals and two assists from junior Adrieana Rossini (Malden, Mass.) as the Cadets cruised to the season-series sweep over Univ. of New England.
Junior forward Jess Piracini (Tewksbury, Mass.) had her best offensive game in a Cadet uniform, notching three assists as well for Norwich.
Senior Nicole Goebel (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) had a goal and an assist, while junior defensive pair partners Robyn Foley (Goulds, Newfoundland and Labrador) and Carly Menges (Novelty, Ohio).
Sophomore Amanda Conway (Methuen, Mass.) scored her team-leading 26th goal of the season, while freshman Nicole Lorenzo (Coral Springs, Fla.) and senior Kim Tiberi (Raleigh, N.C.) each tallied goals as well for the Cadets.
Senior goalie Laurie King (Waddington, N.Y.) increased her program-leading career record shutout mark to 21 after making 16 saves.
Norwich outshot UNE 63-16 in the game.
The Cadets clinched the No. 1 seed for the NEHC Tournament for the eighth straight year. NU will host New England College at 3 p.m. in the NEHC Quarterfinals at Kreitzberg Arena on Saturday, Feb. 17.
