Box Score WESTON, Mass. – The Norwich University women's volleyball team fell 3-1 to league-newcomer Regis on Wednesday night in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action.
Norwich dropped the first two sets, before rallying to take the third set 25-23. However, the Cadets ultimately fell 25-18 in four sets to Regis. The Pride won the first two sets by scores of 25-17 and 25-12.
Sophomore Michele Zummo (Highland Mills, N.Y.) led the Norwich offense with eight kills. Classmate Monika Schneider (Brookline, N.H.) added six kills as well, while freshman Julia Schroeder (Victorville, Calif.) had five kills.
Sophomore Brianna Dawson (Katonah, N.Y.) led the defensive effort with 10 digs, while junior Emily Oliver (Sagamore Hills, Ohio) chipped in with seven digs. She also paced the offense with 19 assists.
Norwich posted a .011 attacking percentage and had nine service aces as a team, led by three from Schroeder.
After winning nine matches in a row, Norwich has now dropped its last two as it heads to Johnson & Wales on Saturday for a 1 p.m. meeting with the 14-0 undefeated Wildcats.
