Box Score NORTHFIELD, Vt. – The Norwich University women's ice hockey team defeated the Univ. of Southern Maine 1-0 on Friday night in New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) action at Kreitzberg Arena.
Despite skating with just nine players, Southern Maine hung tough, holding Norwich scoreless through the first 31 minutes of the game.

Madison Gallagher (Kirkland, Quebec) finally got the Cadets' offense on the board after stripping the puck from a USM defender along the boards and feeding
Adelle Murphy (Roseau, Minn.) in front of the net. Murphy corralled the puck and sniped a shot off the cross bar and into the back for her 10
th goal of the season.
Norwich (16-6-0, 13-1-0 NEHC) won its seventh straight game with the victory over the Huskies. The Cadets outshot USM 45-6 on the day.
Junior goalie
Celeste Robert (Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec) made six saves to pick up her fifth shutout of the season. Courtney Davis made 44 saves for Southern Maine to keep the Huskies in it.
Norwich returns to action on Saturday when it hosts the University of New England at 7 p.m. in NEHC action.
