Box Score NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Senior Holly Lutz (Hamburg, N.J.) made 12 saves for the Norwich University women's soccer team as the squad posted a 6-0 loss to Albertus Magnus College on Saturday.
Norwich falls to 2-12-2 overall on the year while dropping its ninth Great Northeast Athletic Conference tilt of the year. Albertus Magnus improves its overall record to 9-7-1 and to 3-7-1 within the league.
Angelina Piccirillo scored two goals for the Falcons, scoring the game's first goal in the 10th minute. Amanda Montano would head home a feed from Piccirillo, elevating the hosts to a 2-0 lead with just over 12 minutes remaining on the first half scoreboard.
The second half was controlled by the Falcons, who scored four additional goals to put the game away. Albertus Magnus ended the game taking 28 of the game's 31 shots and 11 of the tilt's 14 corner kicks.
Lutz yielded five goals on 17 shots, dropping to 0-4-1 overall on the year. Junior Leandra Flores-Nieves (Colorado Springs, Colo.) relieved Lutz in the final four minutes of regulation time, allowing one goal on two shots. The tandem of Ryan Clark and Lexie Fenn made three saves, earning the team shutout.
Norwich concludes its season this Tuesday, Oct. 25 as it takes on Lyndon State College at 3:30 p.m. on Sabine Field.
