Box Score SOUTH BOSTON, Mass. – The Norwich University women's ice hockey team won its fourth straight game with a 1-0 victory over UMass Boston on Saturday afternoon at the Clark Ice Arena to maintain its hold on first place in the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) action.
Sophomore Sarah Schwenzfeier (Hingham, Mass.) scored the game's lone goal while junior Celeste Robert (Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec) stopped all 24 shots she faced to lead Norwich to the victory.
Schwenzfeier scored at the 12:45 mark of the first period, which would hold up for the duration of the game as the Cadets skated away with the victory and a four-point weekend.
Rachel Bellio picked up the assist on the goal as the Cadets outshot UMB 41-24.
Robert improved to 7-4-0 on the season and picked up her fifth shutout of the year.
Norwich (13-6-0, 11-1-0 NEHC) stayed two points ahead of second-place Saint Anselm and pushed its lead to four points on Castleton, who is the next best Division III team.
Norwich returns to action on Tuesday night when it hosts Middlebury at 7 p.m. in its final non-conference game of the season.
