Box Score NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – The Norwich University women's volleyball team dropped a non-conference match 3-1 to Mass College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) on Wednesday night.
MCLA's Alison Clark had 25 kills and 14 digs with a .512 attacking percentage to lead the Trailblazers (10-3) to the victory.
Norwich (2-6) won the first set 25-21, before dropping the next three by scores of 25-22, 25-17 and 25-17.
The Cadets were once again led offensive by senior middle hitter Tara Lyons (Pocasset, Mass.), who last week recorded her 500th career kill. Lyons had nine kills and two blocks for NU.
Freshman outside hitter Emily Oliver (Sagamore Hills, Ohio) had six kills and 15 digs, while sophomore setter Katie Crane (Avon, N.Y.) had 19 assists, three kills and seven digs. Junior Alex Ruediger (Sandy Lake, Pa.) led the team with 16 digs.
Norwich travels to Bridgewater State to take on the Bears and Salem State this weekend in a non-conference tri-match.
The Cadets then return home to host Lyndon State on Sept. 30th at 7 p.m. in Andrews Hall Gym.
