KINGSTON, R.I. - The Norwich University women's rugby team claimed its second straight Northeast Women's Rugby Conference (NWRC) Division I title with a 43-29 victory over American International College on Saturday afternoon.
Norwich was led by a pair of tries from freshman Ilona Maher (Burlington, Vt.) to beat AIC for the third time this season and the fifth time overall.
Hannah Bell, Sophie Mundell, Valerie McGuire, Alanna Girardin and Vanessa Champagne each scored a try as well, while Girardin finished 4-for-7 on conversions to round out the Norwich offense in the victory.
