BOSTON - The Norwich University women's rugby team won its eighth straight match with a dominating 137-0 victory over Boston University on Saturday night.
The Cadets (8-1, 6-0 NWRC) were led by junior center Ally Day (Gorham, Maine), who notched three tries on the day and was one of 18 different players to score a try for Norwich on the night.
Vanessa Champagne (St. Nazaire, Quebec), Ilona Maher (Burlington, Vt.) and Denisse Zambon (Bronx, N.Y.) each tallied two tries for Norwich. Sophie Mundell, Riley Blankenship, Hannah Bell, Frankie Sands, Arianna Amodeo, Jessica Bosseler, Courtney Sullivan, Sarah Whalen, Katie Smith, Alanna Girardin, Sabrina Villanueva, Sophia Buono, and Alexandrea Hawkins each scored one try as well for the Cadets.
Bell finished with five conversions, while Girardin added seven more.
Norwich earned the No. 1 seed for the NWRC playoffs and more information will be released in the coming days on when the Cadets will play again.
