Northfield, Vt.—The Norwich University swimming and diving teams dropped a close decision to Babson Saturday at Goodyear Pool.
The men's side registered 138 points, losing by just eight to the perennial NESCAC power, while the women put up 37 in another steeping stone performance.
Brandon Kelly (Centreville, Md.) was the star for the Cadets, winning both the 50 yard backstroke and the 50 yard butterfly. Norwich also got another stellar day from Patrick Bowden (Cumberland, Maine) who blazed through the 500 yard freestyle in 5:09.76.
The Cadets once again excelled on the diving board as Matt Kaye (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) won two separate events.
On the women's side, Norwich got a win in the 50 yard butterfly from Kelsey Baker (Austin, Texas). Daniella Vitale (North Smithfield, R.I.) finished third in the 50 yard backstroke with a time of 35.52.
The Cadets will be back in action next Saturday at Elms College.
