Box Score NEW LONDON, N.H.—The Norwich University volleyball team dropped a non-conference road match to the Chargers of Colby-Sawyer College on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Cadets fall to 2-2 on the season, while the win boosts the Chargers to 2-4 overall.
After dropping game one by a score of 25-17, the Cadets came back to force extra points in game two, with Colby-Sawyer ultimately claiming the game with a 28-26 score. The Chargers would post a 25-13 score in game three to solidify the 3-0 win.
The Cadets were led by Tara Lyons (Pocasset, Mass.), who totaled a team-high seven kills and two service aces. She also finished the match with eight digs. Corinne Baita (Rochester, N.H.) led the Cadets in digs with nine. Alex Palmer (South Windsor, Conn.) aided Norwich with four kills and seven digs, and Gabrielle Miller (Grove City, Ohio) posted a team-high 16 assists.
Leading the efforts for the Chargers was Jackie Keating, who totaled a match-high 14 kills and five blocks. Courtney O'Hara added 12 kills and two blocks, while Laura Smolinksi totaled a match-high 33 assists. Ally Le-Bruno and Julia Yee totaled 11 and 10 digs, respectively.
The Cadets return to action on Thursday, Sept. 13 as they travel to Green Mountain College for a 7:00 p.m. non-conference matchup.
