Box Score NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Norwich University women's soccer team had its three-game unbeaten streak snapped with a 4-0 loss to Albertus Magnus on Saturday in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action.
Senior Danielle Figueroa had a goal an assist to lead Albertus Mganus (7-2-2, 3-1-2 GNAC) to help the Falcons avenge a 5-1 loss to Norwich last season.
Figueroa opened the scoring for Albertus Magnus in the 16th minute by collecting her own rebound and burying the extra opportunity past Norwich junior goalkeeper Allison Hull (South Royalton, Vt.).
Less than six minutes later Shelley Mirmina scored off a free kick to give Albertus Magnus a 2-0 lead. The Falcons added two more goals in the second half with Shannon Skidmore and Amanda Roke picking up tallies to cap the scoring.
Senior forward Brittany Casey (Pointe-Claire, Quebec) led Norwich with three shots on goal. Overall, the Cadets (3-5-2, 1-3-2 GNAC) were outshot 18-9. Hull made seven saves for Norwich while being saddled with the loss.
Norwich looks to get back on track on Wednesday when the Cadets travel to Mount Ida for a 7 p.m. kickoff under the lights on the Mustangs' Alumni Field.
