Box Score COLCHESTER, Vt.—The Norwich University volleyball team dropped a 3-0 non-conference decision to Saint Michael's College on Monday evening at the Ross Sports Center. With the loss, the Cadets fall to 6-5 on the season, while the win boosts Division-II Saint Michael's to 7-2 overall.
Game scores were 25-10, 25-14, and 25-18.
The Cadets' offensive efforts were led by Haley Vermes (Westborough, Mass.), who posted a team-high four kills. Gabrielle Miller (Grove City, Ohio) dished out 12 assists, while Kelsey Mancini (Lynnfield, Mass.) and Corinne Baita (Rochester, N.H.) recorded seven and five digs, respectively.
Katie Walsh led Saint Michael's with a match-high 12 kills. Chelsey Covitz totaled six kills, while Brianna Saunders, Candace Washington and Kelsey Flaherty added five kills each. Jess McLeod dished out a match-high 32 assists and Courtney Dunne recorded 17 digs.
The Purple Knights totaled 39 kills and seven service aces in the win, while the Cadets totaled 16 kills and two service aces.
Norwich returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 29 when it hosts Mount Holyoke in non-conference action at 1:00 p.m. at Andrews Gymnasium.
