TUCSON, Ariz. – The Norwich University baseball team lost to Dickinson State 21-3 before falling under the lights to Calvin 14-6 Friday, March 16, at the Kino Sports Complex. Norwich (0-6) tallied 12 hits on the day.

Senior third Baseman Joe Sleeman (Rochester, N.Y./Greece Athena) led the NU bats versus DSU, going 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored. Senior second baseman Corey Shearer (Montague, Mass./Turner Falls) added a RBI triple down the leftfield line in a two-run fourth inning for the Cadets.

Erik Bastio picked up the win for DSU, allowing three earned runs over six innings. Justin Elizondo went 4-for-6 with five RBIs to lead the Blue Hawks in the victory.

NU junior second baseman J.J. Losco (Wakefield, Mass./Wakefield) went 4-for-5 from the number two spot in the lineup against Calvin. Losco's performance included a double and a two-RBI triple to the fence in right center.

Sophomore pitcher Nicholas Gendron (Alstead, N.H./Vermont Academy) knocked a three-run double down the leftfield line with two outs in the bottom of the ninth to round out the Norwich scoring in the nightcap.

Jake Van Alten went 3-for-5 with three runs scored to lead the Knights (2-2) at the plate. Nate Schepers (1-0) earned the win on the mound, scattering three hits over six innings while striking out seven.
