Box Score MANCHESTER, N.H. – Senior forward Pier-Olivier Cotnoir (Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec) tallied a hat trick, while sophomore goalie Matic Marinsek (Ljubljana, Slovenia) stopped all 23 shots he faced to pick up his second shutout in his second career start to lead the Norwich to a 4-0 win over Saint Anselm on Friday.
After two scoreless periods, the Cadets (4-0-0, 4-0-0 ECAC East) exploded for four goals in the third period. Senior forward Colin Mulvey (Worcester, Mass.) finally broke the stalemate 6:23 into the third period off assists from Tory Allan (Davidson, Sask.) and Travis Janke (Swift Current, Sask.).
Cotnoir then stole the show making it 2-0 just 22 seconds later on his way to tallying a natural hat trick with two more goals at the 12:20 and 19:40 mark of the third period. Cotnoir took over the team lead with six goals on the season with the final tally, surpassing Mulvey who has five.
Junior forward Chris Duszynski (Okotoks, Alberta) dished out two assists in his first game filling in for the injured Blake Forkey on the Cadets' top line with Cotnoir and Kyle Thomas (Waltham, Mass.).
Marinsek continued to shine in goal for Norwich, stymieing Saint Anselm's offense all game long, including making a couple of breakaway saves to improve to 2-0-0 and extend his shutout streak to open his career to 125 minutes and two seconds.
Norwich looks to stay perfect on the season when it travels to New England College on Saturday for a 4:30 p.m. faceoff with the Pilgrims at the Lee Clement Arena in Henniker, N.H.
