Box Score 2 BOSTON, Mass.—The Norwich University volleyball team dropped both ends of a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) doubleheader, falling 3-0 to St. Joseph's (Me.) before dropping a 3-0 decision to Emerson College.
In the opener, St. Joseph's (Me.) posted game scores of 25-15, 25-14 and 25-20.
The Cadets were led offensively by Kelsey Mancini (Lynnfield, Mass.) who posted a team-best eight kills. Tara Lyons (Pocasset, Mass.) added five kills, while Jennette Chartrand (Postenkill, N.Y.) led the defense with 11 digs. Gabrielle Miller (Grove City, Ohio) dished out 15 assists for Norwich.
Saint Joseph's (Me.) was led by Sarah Hawkes and Felicia Wachowiak, who both totaled 11 kills. Kiah Begley dished out a match-high 24 assists and led the team in digs with 15.
In the nightcap against Emerson, the hosts defeated the visiting Cadets by scores of 25-12, 26-24, and 25-15. Alex Palmer (South Windsor, Conn.) led the Cadets with eight kills. Miller added six kills and 18 assists, and Chartrand aided the defense again with 11 digs. MaryRose Meany (Goshen, N.Y.) added two blocks for Norwich.
Kat Rice totaled 14 kills for Emerson, while Alex Lynn added 10. Juliana Tucker dished out 31 assists and also led the team in digs with 10.
The Cadets hit at a .175 hitting percentage against Emerson but were bested by the host's .224 hitting percentage.
With today's results, the Cadets conclude the season with an overall record of 10-14 and a 4-8 record in GNAC play.
