NORTHFIELD, Vt. – The Norwich University women's rugby team wrapped up a perfect regular season with a 72-3 thrashing of Boston College on Saturday afternoon at the NU Dog River Rugby Pitch. The Cadets improved to 11-0 overall and 6-0 in New England Collegiate Rugby Conference (NECRC) play.
Junior Rose Bernheim (Mountain Home AFB, Idaho) led the Cadets offensively with three tries. Ally Day (Gorham, Maine) and Vanessa Champagne (St. Nazarie, Quebec) each tallied two tries while Emily Baugus (Kingsville, Texas), Christine Aye (Longmeadow, Mass.) Joya Clark (Scotia, N.Y.) and Riley Blankenship (Lyndonville, Vt.) each chipped in with a try as well.
Norwich has now outscored its opponents 834-31 this season. The Cadets will await word on their next opponent which is still to be determined by the NECRC.
