Box Score NORTHFIELD, Vt.—Jennifer Ferreira totaled 13 kills and 13 digs to lead the Mt. Ida Mustangs to a 3-0 volleyball win over the Cadets of Norwich University in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Monday afternoon.
With the loss, the Cadets fall to 8-11 overall and 3-5 in GNAC action, while the win boosts the visiting Mustangs to 10-12 overall and 5-3 in GNAC action.
Game scores were 25-12, 25-13, and 25-20.
Ferreira led the Mustangs with a .269 attack percentage. Trudy Goetchius added 10 kills for the Mustangs. Nicole Peixoto dished out a match-high 19 assists, while Kelcey Koolman posted eight digs for Mt. Ida.
The Cadets were led by Gabrielle Miller (Grove City, Ohio) with three kills and 10 assists. Alex Palmer (South Windsor, Conn.) and MaryRose Meany (Goshen, N.Y.) both also added three kills. Meany finished the evening with a match-high four blocks, while Jennette Chartrand (Postenkill, N.Y.) led the Cadets defense with 11 digs.
Mt. Ida capitalized on 18.4 percent hitting while holding the Cadets to a negative attack percentage.
Norwich University returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 20, as they travel to Emmanuel for a GNAC doubleheader. The Cadets take the floor at 12:00 p.m. against Emmanuel and at 2:00 p.m. against Anna Maria College.
