Box Score PAXTON, Mass. – The Norwich women's
soccer team scored five times in each half of Wednesday's Great
Northeast Athletic Conference contest to rout Anna Maria 10-0 at
AMCAT Field.
Brittany
Casey, Nora
Osinski, and Courtney
Parisot each netted two goals for the Cadets to lead
the offense.
Junior midfielder Bianca
Bogda opened the scoring in the 17th minute
with an unassisted strike from the middle of the penalty area that
beat Anna Maria goalkeeper Amanda Hevy to the top left corner of
the goal.
Casey added her two tallies in the 21st and
33rd minutes to bring her season total to a team-leading
nine.
Sophomore midfielder Baylie
Lamarre and sophomore forward Julia
Lovely each added goals as well for the Cadets to
round out their first half scoring.
Parisot opened the second half scoring in the 50th
minute with a goal off an assist from Kathleen
Manning. Freshman Hannah
Magee scored the second goal of her career sandwiched
in between two goals from Osinski to bring the Cadets' total to
nine before Parisot capped the scoring with her second of the
game.
Norwich outshot Anna Maria 31-0. Senior goalkeeper Meghan
Kennedy was uncontested in picking up her fourth win
of the season and second shutout. Hevy made 11 stops in the loss
for the AMCATS.
The Cadets (6-1-1, 4-1-1 GNAC) have now scored 25 goals in their
last three games heading into a crucial showdown with Albertus
Magnus on Saturday as part of Norwich University's 2011 Homecoming
Weekend. The women's match will follow at the conclusion of the
men's match which starts at 1 p.m. at Howard Field.
