STANDISH, Maine – Saint Joseph's College righthander Tyler Laverriere tossed five hitless innings and struck out 10 in a rain-shortened 14-0 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) victory over Norwich University on Saturday morning at Larry Mahaney Diamond.

The Monks (24-11, 11-2 GNAC) recorded 17 hits with 12 different players recording at least one base knock in the lopsided victory. Senior Ian Lee went 3-3 with two doubles, two runs and an RBI while Alex Markakis was 2-3 with a double, a run scored and two RBI on the day.

Chris Campbell was 2-2 with a run, Dan Achorn scored twice and had two hits in three at bats and Cody Hadley tripled and added two runs and two RBI coming off the bench.

Laverriere, who threw just 50 pitches in the win, improved to 3-1 with the victory. His ten strikeouts are a new career high. Matt Vasil hurled the Monks' last no-hitter with 11 K's in a 13-0 win over Maine-Presque Isle at Mahaney Diamond on April 15th, 2005.

Norwich (0-24, 0-11 GNAC) had only two batters reach base in the game. Senior OF Travis Dyke reached on an error to start the contest, while freshman DH Devin Cilley made it to first base on an misplay by the second baseman in the fifth.

Junior LHP Alexandro Cardoza (0-3) took the loss for the Cadets.

Mike Pratt plated Campbell with an infield single in the bottom of the first and the Monks scored three in the second to take a 4-0 lead.

St. Joe's went on to add two more runs in the third before breaking out with eight runs off six hits in the fourth to secure a 14-0 cushion. Freshman designated hitter Alex Lorenc belted a two-run double and Hadley drove in two with a triple to deep center during the offensive outburst.
