Box Score NEWTON, Mass. – Senior Jaren Jeffcoat recorded his 1,000th career point on Thursday night in Lasell's Athletic Center, as the Norwich men's basketball team stomped out the Lasell Lasers, 92-73.
Jeffcoat finished off the GNAC competition with a season-high 22 points, as sophomore Ryan Williams netted 20 and junior Antonio Davis contributed 19 points to the final score. Williams and junior captain Josh Cabrera both sank three treys in the action.
The Lasers (4-15, 3-9 GNAC) were left trailing the Cadets (10-7, 6-4 GNAC) for the game's entirety once Cabrera hit a 3-pointer a minute and a half into play. By halftime, the home team was behind Norwich 49-20, making it very difficult for a second half comeback.
The Cadets stretched their lead to 33 points early in the second half. The Lasers tried to close the gap, but only managed to reach a 15-point spread on two occasions.
Norwich is back in action again on Saturday in a GNAC twinbill, as they will host Saint Joseph's College of Maine at 3 p.m. in Andrews Hall, following the Cadets' women's game at 1 p.m.
