Box Score COLCHESTER, Vt. – The Norwich University volleyball team
was unable to claim either of two tightly contested sets to start
the match in falling to St. Michael's College, 3-0,
Tuesday night at the Ross Sports Center.
NU fell in the first set, 25-21, before dropping a 26-24
decision in the second frame.
St. Michael's was able to close out the match with a 25-18
victory in the third set.
Senior Thea Evans paced the Cadets (2-2) with eight kills, while
classmate Molly Rice recorded 21 assists and three services
aces.
The Purple Knights (1-1) were led by Katie Walsh and Lindsey
Frazier with 12 and 10 kills, respectively.
Jessica McLeod tallied 28 assists for SMC, while Tracy Peterka
posted 10 digs and two service aces.
The Cadets look to get back on track on Saturday, Sept. 11, when
they travel Weston, Mass., to take on Lesley University and Regis
College in a doubleheader. Tipoff for the first match is scheduled
for 1:00 p.m.
