Women's Soccer: Cadets Fall To Albertus Magnus, 1-0, in OT

New Haven, Conn. – The Norwich University women's soccer team dropped an overtime decision to Albertus Magnus, 1-0, in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play on Saturday afternoon. Sarah Boudreau scored the game-winner for the Falcons on a penalty kick in the seventh minute of overtime.

Norwich (2-2-0, 0-1-0 GNAC) had its best chance to score in the 78th minute when sophomore M Lisa Esparza had her first shot and subsequent shot stopped by a diving AMC G Christina Dineson.

The Falcons (3-2-0, 1-0-0 GNAC) were awarded the penalty kick seven minutes into overtime when Samantha Gigliotti was fouled in the box. Boudreau proceeded to place the ball in the back of the net. 

AMC outshot Norwich by a 26-10 margin and held a 9-2 advantage in corners.

Senior goalkeeper Alecia Wright had 12 saves for NU. Dineson finished with four stops for Albertus.

Norwich next game will be on Wednesday, Sept. 15, when they host St. Joseph (Conn.) in a conference clash. Game time is set for 3:30 p.m. at Howard Field.
