With the victory, Norwich (13-11, 8-9 GNAC) moves into a three-way tie with Johnson & Wales University and Lasell College for fifth place in the GNAC standings with just one regular season game remaining for each team.

The first six minutes of the contest went back and forth with the score tied at 10-all at the 13:57 mark. A triple by Ryan Williams ignited a 21-11 run over the next 10 minutes, which gave Norwich a 31-21 lead with 3:10 to play before halftime. Norwich tacked on a couple of more hoops before the break to take a 33-22 lead into the intermission.

Norwich held its double-figure lead through the first 10 minutes of the second frame. A 9-0 Emmanuel run helped the Saints cut their deficit to as five points (49-44) with 9:52 to play, but consecutive jumpers by Boston and Ryan Williams gave NU a nine-point cushion one minute later. The Saints got no closer than six points the rest of the way s the Cadets held on for the victory.

Armani Gil paced Emmanuel (4-20, 3-14 GNAC) with 15 points. Andre Fuller added 12 points, while Isaiah Duke posted a double-double with 11 points and a game-high 11 rebounds.

Norwich held a commanding edge at the free throw line, converting 27-of-33 compared to just 13-of-22 for Emmanuel. The Saints made 35.2 percent (25-of-71) of their field goals, while the Cadets hit 40.0 percent (22-of-55) of their shots from the floor.

Norwich was outrebounded 45-39, but the Cadets still enjoyed a 22-10 edge in second-chance points.

Norwich will close out its 2009-10 regular season schedule on Saturday, Feb. 20, when the Cadets host Emerson College on Senior Day at Andrews Hall. Norwich will be looking to even the season series versus the Lions after dropping a 76-62 decision in Boston last month.
