Box Score NORTHFIELD, Vt. – The Norwich
women's basketball team fell to a 0-2 start to their season
when they faced a 20-point spread against Colby-Sawyer at the final
buzzer. The Cadets dropped a 76-56 decision in their home-opener
against the Chargers.
For Colby-Sawyer, sophomore Taylor DeSanty led
her team with 27 points against the Cadets, sinking 5-of-9
3-pointers and contributing seven rebounds, four assists and four
steals. Sophomore Sammy Lehr led with eight boards
and made ten points, while classmate Cailin
Bullett tallied 10 assists.
For the Cadets, seniors Christine Daniels and
Karissa Doyon led Norwich in points for the second
straight game, making 13 and 14 respectively. Sophomore
Jessalyn Sweeney recorded seven boards, while
Daniels earned a double-double by rounding out her night with 14
rebounds. Doyon was also good for four assists and four steals
against Colby-Sawyer.
Norwich will play two games this weekend, starting on the road
at Wentworth on Saturday for a 1 p.m. game before returning home to
Andrews Hall for a 7 p.m. showdown with the College of Saint Joseph
(Vt.) on Sunday.
